Вопрос дискуссионный (http://community.livejournal.com/221b_bakerst/447319.html) - Lestrade, видимо, фамилия французского происхождения, поэтому возникает вопрос, произносить ли её по правилам английского языка или на французский манер. И я не уверен, что на этот вопрос есть "единственно верный" ответ. В данном сериале Холмс произносит "ЛестрАд".

Эта тема обыгрывается даже в разных фанфиках и вариациях на тему.

Вот, например:

(1 (http://www.mayhematics.com/s/lestrade.htm))
The name Lestrade probably is of French origin, though I have never attempted to trace my ancestry back beyond my grandfather who was a Thames waterman, while my father worked as a stevedore in the East India Docks. They always gave the name the Cockney pronunciation 'Lest-raid' rather than 'Le-strahd' as people educated in French tend to read it. In the East End of London I rubbed shoulders early on with many of the criminal fraternity and learnt their ways.

...There were several reporters on the scene after the murderer was arrested, all wanting me to answer their dozens of questions.

"Inspector Lestrade," began one. Except that he pronounced my name as "Le-straid."

"Lestrade," I corrected.

"Yes. Anyway, Inspector Lestrade—"

"Lestrade," I growled. The fellow had mispronounced my name again!

"Sorry, Inspector, what was that?"

"My name is pronounced as 'Le-strahd.'" This man was absolutely impossible!

The look on the reporter's face told me he hadn't understood a word I'd just said. I was quite sure that what I had said was plain English. I was certainly not speaking in some obscure eastern language!

"Inspector Lestrade, how did the Yard manage to apprehend this villain?"

I was coming very close to losing my temper. These impertinent reporters insited on pronouncing my name "Le-straid."

"Before I tell you anything else, I would like to make it clear that my name is pronounced 'Le-strahd.' Not 'Le-straid.' 'Le-strahd.'"

"Inspector Lestrade, is it true that the eminent consulting detective Sherlock Holmes, was involved?"

By now I was almost ready to pull out a gun and shoot these idiots. It was an outrage! The newspaper managers ought to know what imbeciles their reporters are!...
